Lies and betrayal make for a great book but I couldn't connect with the characters. I felt Julien was too much of a player and Emily was to willing to follow her pussy instead of her mind. I didn't like Julien and honesty I am rooting for Suzie. (I know she's just a side character) and the cliffhanger was crazy making me want to read on to see how this factors into things. I did like the hot sex scenes and the fact that Emily is a face slapped though.

I read this book at the authors suggestion. I was given a copy for my honest review so here goes.
This was a novella and I have a love hate relationship with novellas. I love them but because they are short reads I'm left with so many questions.. That wasn't the case here though. I love a great book and this book had so much passion in it.
Not just the love kind but also the kind where you want to slap the crap out of some of the characters because their decisions made you feel so angry that you just can't help yourself. That to me is the works of a great author. If they can pull you into a characters world just by their words well, that's just amazing to me.
That's why we read right.. To be thrown into another world and forget everything else?
Julien and Emily's relationship had a crazy start. They met at a club and at the suggestion of one of Emily's
Best friends she went home with Julien, even against her better judgement. Emily's world was thrown upside down by one passion filled night. Something was ignited in them both that night that changed them forever. I don't know about you but what girl doesn't dream of being swept off her feet and falling head over heals about someone.
We want that night in shining armor to whisk us away from all our heartache right?
Yes, things got serious really quickly but who knows.. I would love to believe in love at first site. We can't help what our hearts do right? Even if our minds tell us something else. Julien might be trouble but Emily is willing to take that chance. He's awaken feelings in her she's never felt before but at what cost to her heart.
Emily and Julien are from two different worlds. he's a multi billionaire and she's a chef that lives in a little apartment on the opposite end of town. You would think that would just be bad all around right.. I mean how could she ever fit in his perfect world?
There's so much drama going on. Emily has an ex who wants her back and julienne has a wife. Yup I said it, a wife..
Their lives are so different but yet when they are together it's like the missing puzzle piece that makes the picture come to life.
I wonder how this could ever work. Can one night really change everything you've ever thought was true? I'm rooting for julienne and Emily but with the way the book ended... Oh my.. I guess I'll be aping back n forth until the second comes out. Soon I hope...
This is a short hot read. Meet Julien, he is rich, good looking, used to getting his way, and his French accent sounds so sexy in your mind! Emily is a line chef at a restaurant, and is off men since her ex cheated on her, and not looking to date have sex or anything. They meet at a club, and Julien won't take no for an answer, he wants to take her home, and her girlfriends talk her into giving him a chance! After a night filled with sex, sex and more sex, wild hard and everything she ever wanted sex, Emily finds ot by accident that Julien is MARRIED! This doesen't sit well with Emily considering her ex Adam cheated on her, she has been burned and wants nothing to do with a cheater!
The writing in this book is good, I was really into the story when it ended and I want the next book NOW! This book could be re-edited for some errors, which will bother some readers, but there wasn't enough to bother me, and I don't take stars off for stuff like that. You simply can't catch everything, and this wasn't that bad! As for a cliff hanger I don't like them, and I do usually take off a star for them. I kind of like my Hea endings! As far as cliffies go this one wasn't a bad life or death leave you hanging one, so I will wait for the next book patiently! The writer was very good at making the reader feel the emotions of the characters and I am looking forward to seeing what she will do with the rest of Emily and Julien's story!
I am not sure what I was expecting. I see that others didn't like the ending, but it was a cliffhanger. I thought the obsession started too fast, there was no pace for the relationship and the book in MAJOR need of editing. In one section it states Julien sticking his hand through the windshield of the car but in the next paragraph, it took him 47 minutes to get to the scene of the accident where they were just loading up his obsession. Um, this took place in California, it wouldn't have taken 47 minutes for help to arrive. I didn't continue with the other two just to see what would happen and there were very short. All three books need new formatting and line edits as the author was all over the place. It really felt like the author was getting all her ideas down and didn't pay attention to any detail or mistakes. When I read she had an editor, I was beyond shocked.
I think from her bio she was inspired by Fifty shades. This book is nothing like that and the characters are all over the place and none of it makes sense.
